Business beats hundreds of others to be shortlisted for Family Business Entrepreneur Award
North Lanarkshire family business The Power Within Training and Development is in the running to win a prestigious national award.
The company – run by entrepreneurial couple James and Enas Fleming – has been shortlisted for the Family Business Entrepreneur Award at the prestigious GB Entrepreneur Awards.
Awards organisers received almost 5,000 entries from businesses across the UK this year – eight regional awards ceremonies will now be held in September, with the UK national final in November.
James and Enas started The Power Within Training in 2017 after returning home to Scotland following years of working abroad.
The business helps people and businesses excel by improving their motivation, self-belief, decision making and leadership through a ground-breaking approach called Motivational Intelligence.
The company is the only recognised consultant outside of North America with the ability to deliver registered training in Motivational Intelligence and, most recently, James, Enas and their team introduced the world’s first SQA approved Executive Diploma in Leading with Motivational Intelligence.
While many businesses have struggled during the pandemic, James and Enas used many of the techniques they teach others to pivot their business, spot new opportunities and increase their revenue significantly over the past year.
As a result, they’ve grown their small team to six employees and have recently launched a Business Growth Academy aimed specifically at the construction industry which is fully-funded through the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) and includes 39 hours of CPD certification.
Now they have been named as one of just six Scottish finalists of the GB Entrepreneur Awards in the Family Business Entrepreneur category.

The business operates from the company’s base in Bellshill and delivers its training across Scotland and the UK, as well as the US and the Middle East.
