The attitude of a successful entrepreneur
Have you ever wondered how entrepreneurs become so successful, how some leaders can thrive and grow during tough times, and some wilt and fall by the wayside? This has fascinated me for years…..can we all become one of those leaders with the attitude to stay motivated and positive through setbacks, or is that approach just for the chosen few? I have studied this in detail and, in fact, built my business around learning about the attitude of successful entrepreneurs and great leaders.

Entrepreneurial mindset
An entrepreneurial mindset is a set of skills that enable people to identify and make the most of opportunities, overcome and learn from setbacks, and succeed in various settings. Over the last two decades, researchers in psychological science have found that human beings operate under two distinctly different mindsets. The first is a fixed or limited mindset. The second is a growth or unlimited mindset.
Through extensive research, scientists have found the electrical activity in the brain and the portions of the brain that are activated are markedly different depending upon which of these two mindsets a person is operating under. In a study conducted at Michigan State University, test subjects with limited mindsets and those with unlimited mindsets were given a challenging problem to solve.
With sensors attached to measure electrical activity in the brain, people with an unlimited mindset showed significantly more electrical activity within broader brain areas. This indicates that they are more engaged, leveraging more significant portions of their mind, past experiences, and creative abilities to solve the problem.
Conversely, test subjects with a limited mindset showed significantly less electrical activity. They activated a few portions of the mind and thus leveraged less of their capabilities to solve the problem.
Those with an unlimited mindset, i.e. higher levels of Motivational Intelligence (MQ), can develop an entrepreneurial mindset valued by employers, boosts educational attainment and performance, and is crucial for creating new businesses.

Developing entrepreneurial values
The great news is this entrepreneurial mindset or High Motivational Intelligence (MQ) isn’t born to some and not to others. We all have it within us. We were born with a mindset for growth, learning, persistently trying, endless resilience, absorbing information, being inquisitive, believing in a positive outcome and trusting ourselves.
All you have to do is watch a toddler going about their day…all of these qualities are shown in abundance all of the time, and we were the same when we were young, no matter how long ago that was!

Recapturing that unlimited mindset is the absolute key to developing the attitude of an entrepreneur and building a better business; it’s the key to your team to think bigger, be better and achieve more than we ever thought possible. It is the key to accomplishing what we desire most in life.
