Your Ability To Drive Change
This course isn’t your stereotypical Equality, Diversity and Inclusion course; it’s something very different. At The Power Within Training, we don’t do stereotypical training; we design and develop programmes that change belief systems and mindsets.
Deconstructing the Status Quo is built to challenge outdated thinking, unlock new potential, and empower leaders to create cultures where people thrive, regardless of gender, role, or background.
And here’s the best part: We’re inviting a select group of construction businesses to experience the full programme free of charge, as part of our exclusive pilot launch.
All we ask is a small, optional donation to the Glasgow Care Foundation, supporting families across our local community.
About Deconstructing EDI Programme
This isn’t your typical EDI course. This is the shift the construction industry’s been waiting for.
Deconstructing the Status Quo was born from 18 months of research, lived experience, and honest
conversations across job sites, boardrooms, and breakout rooms.
Built by people who live and lead in construction, this programme is grounded in the latest insights from
social and cognitive psychology, and fuelled by real-world feedback from those doing the work.
This isn’t about ticking boxes.
This is about building better businesses through conscious leadership.
At every level, from senior management to site teams, this programme is designed to challenge
outdated thinking, unlock new perspectives, and drive real, measurable change in workplace culture.
We’re tackling the gender gap head-on, not with theory, but with practical tools, mindset shifts, and
meaningful dialogue that changes how people lead, communicate, and collaborate.
The industry is crying out for more diversity, more empathy, and more human leadership.
Deconstructing the Status Quo doesn’t just answer the call, it leads the charge.
Module 1: Understanding Me, You and Us
See the people. Shift the culture.
We start by exploring the real story behind gender in construction, the pressures, the gaps, and the unspoken norms that shape how we lead and work. You’ll gain insight into how men and women often think, communicate, and lead differently, and how to use that knowledge to build stronger, more inclusive teams.
Less theory, more truth. This is where change begins.
Module 2: Rise To Unconscious Bias
See what’s hidden. Change what matters.
Bias shapes decisions long before we realise it, from who gets heard to who gets hired. In this module, you’ll learn how to spot unconscious bias in yourself and others, without judgment, and lead with greater fairness and intention.
It’s not about blame, it’s about awareness, action, and creating the kind of culture where trust, equity, and performance thrive. Because when you see the patterns, you can start to break them.
Module 3: Behavioural Drivers
Lead with EQ. Inspire with MQ
In this session, you’ll learn how to use Emotional Intelligence (EQ) and Motivational Intelligence (MQ) to lead with empathy, intention, and trust. You’ll develop practical skills to build psychological safety, shift from a reactive to a responsive approach, and inspire high performance without pressure or burnout. Because when you lead with EQ and MQ, people don’t just follow, they flourish. Practice inclusive leadership behaviours that foster trust, engagement, and accountability
Module 4: Creating A Collaborative Culture
Build a Legacy of Leadership That Transforms Your Team
This module focuses on turning good intentions into daily habits that promote genuine inclusion. You’ll discover what truly motivates collaboration, and what silently undermines it, in high-pressure, fast-paced settings. Discover how to cultivate trust, respect, and accountability across diverse teams, and leave with a practical action plan to foster a culture where everyone feels seen, valued, and empowered to flourish.
Because culture isn’t just what you say, it’s what you do, consistently.
